London Stock Exchange

One of the largest stock exchanges in the world, LSE has numerous overseas listings in addition to British companies.

PLUS

PLUS, or Plus Markets plc, was formerly known as Ofex. It trades in a wide range of securities including coverage of all London listed shares like the FTSE 100, as well as shares quoted on the AIM and PLUS markets.

AIM (Alternative Investment Market)

Launched in 1995, AIM (Alternative Investment Market) is the London Stock Exchange's international market for smaller, growing companies.

ShareMark

ShareMark is a ground-breaking share-trading facility for small and medium sized companies. It is different to other markets because it operates through an electronic auction market, matching buyers and sellers at a single price. There is therefore no bid/offer spread on ShareMark stocks.

No Longer UK Based

These used to be UK stock exchanges but have ceased trading, or move offshore.

SIX Swiss Exchange

Formerly Tradepoint, then SWX Europe, the SIX Swiss Exchange was originally founded in 2001 as the first cross-border trading platform for pan-European blue chips. SWX Europe ceased trading in April 2009 and the business was transferred to SIX Swiss Exchange.
